The role of the Umpire Commission is to:
 | Provide training days for umpires.
This is to ensure that umpires are kept up to date
with all the rule changes.

| Recruit and retain umpires.
Umpires are the cornerstone of all Regattas. Their role is to ensure safe, fair and equal
racing.
The Region needs new
umpires. New umpires are schooled in the rules of racing, and practise on
our mock river Ouse, before taking a practical and written exam.
